Locally to me a business man has recently been arrested on fraudulent charges, and remains in prison having previously skipped bail.
Said gentleman has 3 beautiful extortionately valued horses, his partner is fighting to keep.
I use the same trainer as the couple, horses are very talented, and mega bucks, but wasted.
A friend of mine rang me today very concerned that she had heard from a 'reliable source' that the horses may have to be destroyed if not re homed.

I am aware that one of the horses has a new home, but have not seen the other horses advertised locally, but i believe the trainer has been looking for a new home.
Am I so naive to as to think that this won't actually happen?

My friend has asked me to put out feelers about whether the horses have homes or not and also asked me to consider becoming a part of a team willing to support these horses in temporary care, which I have obviously agreed to if it comes to that, I know this sounds vague etc. but just wondered can this actually happen and can any action be taken?

DISCLAIMER - I do post under another name, but was concerned that if people local to me read this they may realize the situation I was referring to, and at the moment this all seems to be 'reliable sources' so I felt it unfair to publiscise this as the partner is clearly either in denial or too ashamed to ask for help.

Thanks for reading, chocolate and wine for those of you who made it this far :D

If the horses are so wonderful and the owner so desperate then i am sure she will find them new homes without them having to be destroyed. I wouldn't worry. If she is that desperate to have them destroyed then she is much more likely to sell them cheap (ish) first.

This is what I thought......
very confused
But my friend was so concerned that this would actually happen...
Thanks :o

If they are worth a fair bit of money and he has been arrested on fraud they will be siezed as goods to be sold to recoup the money that he is owing back to the person/company he has defrauded.
No auditor would have the horses destroyed when they can sell them at auction to recoup loses.

The person/company he has defrauded is the government, on hundreds of thousands of pounds....

Thanks guys as I say my friend just made me doubt myself :o
I feel much better now :D

Could it be trainer really rates the horses too & wants to form a syndicate to keep & compete them rather than have them sold on?

calon- Partner can't keep them as she lived off him and his wages, and will now be losing her home and is unemployed :-( really feel for her, as she turned him in etc.
Yes pip6 this is what i wondered, trainer bizzarely spoke to me afew months ago trying to get me to buy another horse, not mentioning anything in particular (i'm a student and can't afford to buy another at moment) However trainer is based in India at present, he chose these horses for the couple, so not sure if he has money tied up in them too, all a bit dodgey really...

have put afew more feelers out to trainer through best friend who is much closer to him than me, so hoping to get some more news today, like I say I just presumed they would be auctioned and sold.

What she said!

Since the guy has been arrested on fraud I would be very very hesitant to part with any money for any of his concerns, unless properly organised by his auditors!
