Apart from a really bad sense of direction, I have a problem recognising (some) people if they are not where I expect them to be.

I've lost count of the amount of embarassing times that I have not recognised aquaintences, while out and about. One of the most embarassing was when I worked as an estate agent and the BIG BOSS who I had only met twice before, came to our office in casual clothes carrying a bag and I thought he was the telephone engineer and proceeded to tell him that i thought he looked familiar and what was his name etc? Only then did I realise who he was.

(He must have thought I was mad)

I have many other similar examples. So unless I know them well I don't recognise them in unfamiliar places. Anyone else like this?

the worst thing is when they know exactly who you are... eg "hello poppy, how are you? how are the kids? did you get the new horse in the end?"... meanwhile i'm thinking... "do i even know you?"

it is very embarrassing. i bumped into my dental nurse in town once, she recognised me, the only thing i could think was that she belonged in a white nurse-like outfit... so i presumed she was the girl that waxed my legs...

I am exactly the same - I don't recognise people I work with out of 'work clothes', I don't recognise people from the yard if they aren't in jodhs.... hell I've even gone a few months without seeing some of my old friends and I don't recognise them when I bump into them!

Its very embarassing

Thank goodness I am not alone then! I really thought it was just me as I seem to be the only one in my circle of friends and family who has this problem. Apart from the boss thingy another one was when I nearly abducted the YO grandchild thinking he was another liveries kid lol

I'm stunningly bad with faces. I work as an account manager and can't recognise customers that I have dealt with for years

Colleagues too if I don't see them often.

My worst horror is client events where I am expected to introduce everyone to each other. I just can't. Yet curiously I recognise their voices, remember every phone number I have ever been given and have a good sense of direction.

Apparently its a known medical condition. But definitely not ideal in my job! I have lots and LOTS of tricks I use to get around it!

PMSL popsicle that's funny about nearly anducting the child!

Actually its comforting to find there are others like me.

Its a real b*gger though isn't it, I so envy people who can remember faces!
