I can't exactly put my finger on it but I just don't have the same affection and admiration for Frankel as I did for Sea The Stars.

Frankel has done everything asked of him and he can't do more than win, but somehow I just don't get the same sense of excitment when I watch him. Maybe it's just because of the sense of inevitability that he's going to win. Maybe it's because I sometimes think (probably wrongly) that his opponents may have been a lower calibre to the horses that STS raced against.

When I watched STS I used to get a tingly feeling down my back!

AM I THE ONLY PERSON IN THE WORLD WHO FEELS LIKE THIS??!!

I'm not at all into flat racing, not sure why?? So don't seem to be feeling the love the same as everyone else is.

But you gotta give the guy credit!

It's strange isn't it because you can't knock his performance. Maybe it's because he's never had to get into a ding dong battle with another horse; he has never had to fight for his victories - they are just an inevitability.

STS on the other hand seemed to just do enough to win so his victories were a little more exciting?

I would love to have seen Frankel challenged to confirm just how much of a fighter he actually is. Although maybe he's so good that there aren't any horses that could challenge him over a reasonable distance?

I agree with the OP. Frankel IS amazing, in another class to his opposition and i wish they would keep in training longer, but they wont cos of the value in him as a stallion. Love Henry C the trainer.

BUT yes, i preferred Sea The Stars, he was more ethereal, had a real charisma.

The one that made me really go tingly was Fantastic Light ( but he was ages ago.)

Yep, I'd say you are the only person to not love Frankel ;)

I don't really like flat racing but love watching him run, so effortless and he has been raced and won easily in so many different styles; he can run from the front, be tucked in, held up at the back and it doesn't seem to matter.

Absolute training and riding masterclass too, to produce such a great horse.

I agree with you about Fantastic Light - amazing horse.

But I think those who dont find Frankel exciting will look back in 30 years time and think -wasnt I Iucky to have been around when he was in his pomp....

Bet you wouldn't turn him down if he was given to you, the prestige of owning such an incredible racehorse, how does he do it, he is magnificent, what a horse, each of the famous ones have their own speciality you cannot dislike on against another.

I admire him for what he has done on the track but he has never had a fight and he has ever raced outside of England.I would much have preferred to see him take on the rest of the world on the same terms - having had to travel, train and race overseas makes a great horse. He should have gone to the Arc.

But hey ho! He will earn a fortune at stud!

He has had a fight!
He hasn't had many because nothing else is good enough, and I don't agree that they aren't the same calibre as those Sea the Stars beat.
Frankel is the highest rate horse in the world for a very good reason, and his physical presence is just stunning!

Short answer- I hope you are :D

Oh my word that video of him is amazing...Ive actually got a tear in my eye! I dont think anyone can dispute how incredible Frankel is, as imo all horses are, just that some have talents that we can all appreciate
