Hi
I've had my Welsh section B for just over 4 years now, and I'm worried I look a bit too big on him :/ I'm 16, 5'5 ish and 8 1/2 stone and my pony's about 13.2hh and just turned 7 y/o.
Here are some pictures from the other day:

He looks a bit sleepy in the last one haha :3
He's never had any trouble with my weight or any balance issues for my height, it's just that my legs look quite long on him because he's not very chunky and I'm thinking of what other people might say :S Please could you give me your opinions? :)

As you say your legs are long but you are very slim so I am sure you won't cause him any problems. As long as you are both comfortable I wouldn't worry about what others say - lots of people over horse themselves and look more silly ;)

If he does everything you want and you enjoy riding and caring for him then don't worry what people say.

I'm 30, 5ft 8 and pregnant and I certainly wouldn't trade my 13.2 for anything!

You look great :) and as others have said, if he does what you want don't worry about other people, just enjoy him, he's very cute; I'm 5ft 3, 52 years old and ride a 12.2hh chunky NF, he could carry me all day and I'm 9.5 stone

The way a pony is ridden is more relevant than height and weight. A well balanced and quiet rider is far easier to carry than someone who is bouncing about on the pony's back.

You and your pony look happy together, if he's happy with you on board and can do what you ask without problems then don't worry

If you're happy and balanced riding him, and he's happy and balanced with you on his back, then at your weight I don't see any problem at all. Carry on having fun together :)

youre grand! im in a similar situation haha :) 13, 5FT3 and ride a very fine 13.2hh pocket rocket who has absolutey no trouble carryng me round 90/95cm courses consistantly aswell as the odd game of chase me charlie which goes up to a meter (im too chicken to go any higher haha!)

I'd just like to say how gorgeous your pony is! You certainly don't look too heavy on him, maybe a little tall but not in a way that would cause him a big problem.

I think you would be better suited to a bigger pony/horse - I doubt your weight is an issue so if you're happy then carry on but I would guess that you may feel more balanced and comfortable on something bigger. Try something bigger for a comparison maybe? x

I'm much older than you but similar size and have to say I'd not ride anything the size of your pony... Sec Ds for me if a Welsh. Yours is fine too.

BUT I've not got the difficulty of already loving your pony.

Seriously wouldn't think of getting on something new that size though.
