I'm visiting a pony today that I might be sharing. Well the owner wants a lightweight teenager to exercise and compete her horse. He is 7 years old and 12hh. The owner thinks I'm fine but I'm not convinced I am 13, 154cm (4ft11) and 39kg (just under 6 stone) do you think I will be okay ?

I was confused by Lolo's response as it's the reverse answer to the title question.

I agree, yes you'll be fine, and no you're probably not too big. Assuming it's not a dainty dinky type!

as lolo said, you'll be absolutely fine unless its quite thin and scrawny, smaller ponys tend to be stockier though so im sure you wont have a problem!

I'm 5'7" and up until I was 22 I rode and competed at national level showing with my 12hh Dartmoor gelding. I was about 9 1/2 stone at the time and he managed great. was a good incentive to keep the weight off too lol
