Hi there!
I’ve recently started loaning a 14.1hh welsh d mare. I’m 28 years old and 5”4 so can JUST get away with her height wise. I was just wondering if anyone knows the restrictions to do with age and height when showing? I’m keen to show her m&m ridden, working hunter and showjumping but not sure if I’m going to have problems?
Any help and advice is appreciated!
Thanks

Oh really? I thought I’d read somewhere that some classes require you to be under 18/over18 and thought it might mark me down if I don’t quite fit her!
Good to know thanks!

M&Ms there are no age limits on open showing classes (there are some junior classes that you may be restricted from) it is only the show pony and hunter pony classes that have age limits

You are no where near too big for her either! Im 5ft4 and ride a 13.2hh welsh C

Not too big or too old to show an open M&M there are only weight restrictions if you are any age and under 8stone you could show a section a of light build the recent rules only involve pony welfare if you are too heavy for a tiny pony you will be told to get off even if just warming up a lead rein

nah, watch an affiliated open section A class to demonstrate that not quite fitting isn't an issue :)

Any small breed class! The dartmoors and shetlands are just as bad!

There are no upper age restrictions on Novice and Open Ridden M&M and Workers classes so you will be just fine.
