I've fancied doing a mini hunter trial for ages. I only want to do 1'6" class but have not been very confident about jumping before. However I'm now jumping a small course of three small jumps now and getting on well. The HT is a course of 8 jumps, am I mad to consider trying for September?

Go for it. You have got plenty time between now and Sept to prepare and get plenty practicing in. Go to watch some if you get the chance so you get the feel of how it all goes. Most of all have fun.

I've been and watched at the Trials I want to have a go at which is why I fancy having a go

. I still get a bit wobbly at times but my confidence has grown a lot since last summer. My good friends all reckon I can do it but it's nice to have another opinion

Go for it. Think about what a confidence boost you'll get after doing it! I'm planning on competing in an unaffliated sj show at some point this summer and so far the most i've done with my new horse is a grid of 3 jumps. Taking baby steps.

Oh er!! I've done some dressage with him but nothing like this. I'm not that experienced but have fantastic friends who are helping me with my riding. Guess I've got to start somewhere though
