When i get another horse in the future i will not get one with any white feet or if they have white feet they have to have all four white feet! my friend thinks that i am silly for saying that but i just prefer no white markings or all four legs! what do you prefer and am i silly in thinking this??

Erm have to admit I am the same. Dont know why but I prefer 4 whites or none (septre has 4 whites and Amber has none).

Saying that I wouldnt turn down the perfect horse just because it had 3 white legs.

Sorry I think you are being silly!! you don't choose a horse on its colour, rather on personality and training and conformation.

No offence intended!!!

I personally prefer horse's to have similiar markings on their legs, but I wouldn't not get a horse if it didn't - its just my perfect ideal. I don't expect the horse's to conform to it - all of mine have odd markings & I can honestly say I don't care! Their personality, temperament andsuitability is much more important! x x x

Well if you were to get a Cleveland I can assure you that there would be no white feet!!!!!!!

Had a mare once with three white feet, her shoes came off in clay out hunting all the time and she was forever bruising them - need I say more!

not silly, everyone is entitled to a personal preference. Pidge has 3 white legs and I can honestly say it doesn't bother me in the slightest. It's the horse itself rather than the colour or white on it that counts. I hated his white face when I first got him as I thought it was horrible, now I love it

i suppose its just peference then! I am a bit daft but that is what i want i bet i dont end up getting one tho now i have said this! I suppose its what you fall in love with at first sight really then!

Once again it’s just personal preference. I went out looking for a coloured horse, and I knew (from having a bay) that that is what I wanted, it’s just me! I wasn’t looking at anything but coloureds but I knew there would be no point.

Not silly in one respect but I hope you put other factors above that one. lol.

I go for the look in a horse's eye before everything else. That seems to tell me whether I need to bother to look at the rest of him/her.

personal preference makes us all different so don't knock it. Wouldn't life be boring if we all liked the same thing! It's nice to have an idea of what we want when looking for a horse but it doesn't always pan out that way. I lost Higgs to GS and was looking for a replacement 17.2hh IDxWB bay and look what I ended up with a 16.3hh ISH chestnut! However he is the right horse for me and ticks all the right boxes so I suppose it doesn't really matter what colour he is. Get the right horse for you, the colour doesn't really matter.

I can honestly say thats is something i have never thought about LOL!!!

I know some people are superstisous (sp) and say that a horse with 4 white feet is bad luck but it is something that has never crossed my mind in the slightest. I probably wouldn't even be able to tell you how many white feet it had til i got it home LOL.

Id eosnt bother me but I loved the fact my last mare who was a dun, had black stockings and four white feet, looked lovely!

However current horses, one has 2 white back feet, the other one, and they are both gorgeous to me!

well ive always had greys and my coloured so all have had white legs!!!
but if the horse was perfect for me colour wouldn't matter. although i prefer coloureds and greys

Me too. But before I got my grey I didn't want a grey (or a mare, come to think of it) now I look at greys before anything else. And mares!!

If it was the right horse though, colour really wouldn't matter to me. I saw a gorge dark bay colt at Newmarket - he was the only one I would have parted with money for and he went for 1500 gn (luckily I wasn't armed with a chequebook!)

i deffo wouldnt choose a horse because of the colour of its feet however white feet are not as strong. dont know if any one knows this saying but some 1 told me it when i was little and for some reason ive always remembered it

one sock - buy it
two socks - try it
three socks - ask your mother
four socks -buy another
dont know what it actually means but thought id share
