La came in at lunch time, just hosed legs and chucked in stable. She doesn't like rain/getting wet but am adamant she goes out daily even for 3/4 hours.

This evening cue FAT leg :( She's twatted herself in the field - even though they hadn't been hooning around  - and of course it's blown up :(

What did I do? Cry

Then hosed, hibiscrubbed - ouch - and bandaged. Even took her temp! Left her munching hay (P'd off at me for faffing with leg)

I just panic. Issue with anyone else's horse am fine and am rational. Mine - I fall to bits. I even wanted to call a vet!!! Every worst possible scenario goes through my thick head

Why am I like this?? Am I alone?

What a way to get a duvet day Lyla

btw she is weight bearing and not lame and temp is normal :):o

Oh bless!
You're not alone!
I didn't cry but was adamant my old boy had broken his leg when he stood there waving it at me a few months back! Rational art of my brain was screaming "Pus In The Foot" at me, but I chose to ignore that and rang the vet and had YO (who's also a knacker man) on standby with his gun!
Hope Lyla makes a speedy recovery :-)

Hey you are not alone, I had a bad thing happen this year and it was bad but could have been worse but I cried and screamed for some reason... I am fine in a crisis not involving my horses.. even my hubby,.. but something happening to my horses..OMG I am such a girl :o
