Haven't posted on here for a while but here goes!

Right this sounds really stupid but for Electronic Communication module @ Uni we had to design some sort of equstrian website, so mine is called 'The Collecting Ring' lol and is basically a show jumping website

So I'm doing like a feature on amateur riders, so please could people help out and fill one out if you're not busy?
smile.gif

This could possibly end up live on the internet (I run jumpoff.co.uk) so if you do fill it in, you must not mind having your interview on an actul website.

Would be a great help! I've left it till the last minute again and its due in on Wednesday so not much time left lollllll oh dear

anyway the people that I need are people who jump BSJA, pref horses but if you are on ponies thats fine I might do a seperate pony rider section
smile.gif

Please help meeeeeeeee!!

1) How many horses do you currently compete at the moment?
Two....Rambo V and Trike M

2) What classes do you currently compete in?
Anything from British Novice to 1.20m Open....when i'm feeling brave lol!

3) How long have you been a member of the BSJA?
With a membership number in the low 30,000's.....far too long
grin.gif
I think I first registered as a rider in about 1982
shocked.gif

4) What has been your best acheivement so far?
At the age of 15, over the space of about 2 weeks, qualifying for both the Winter Grade C Finals (now Blue Chips), and the Osborne Refrigerators B&C Championships...alongside the likes of Will Funnell and Duncan Inglis
grin.gif

5) What are your aims for 2007?
Well, Trike has already exceeded my aims with him in qualifying for the Blue Chip Novice Champs. For Rambo, to qualify for Scope and the National Amateur Champs.

6) What are your long term aims?
To continue to enjoy my SJ'ing and take my horses as far as they can go.

7) Describe your favourite horse that you have competed so far, and why?
Would have to be Rambo, as he has so much natural talent and is such a careful horse....well, usually
tongue.gif
He's also my most frustrating horse to compete as he can be completely silly and lets himself down as a result.

8) Do you combine school/uni or a full time job with competing? And how do you fit it all in?
Yes....I'm in full-time employment. I work long hours, and travel for 4 hours a day too. The horses get exercised after work and i'm usually home by around 9pm.

9) Do you have a show jumping trainer? If so, who are they? And how do they help you improve?
Yes....I've had several. Penny Sangster is currently helping me. It's great to have someone on the ground who can cast an impartial eye on the way you and your horse are going. She's very strong on the flatwork being an eventer
smile.gif

10) If you could have any top show jumping horse, which one would you choose and why?
Dead or Alive ? Milton would be the horse of choice. He just looked so easy to ride and made everything look effortless...otherwise, I love Cavalor Cumano who I guess would be the closest living thing to a Milton

1, although there have been many '1's' this year! LOL. 4yr old called Spartacus, other horse recovering from injury.

2) What classes do you currently compete in?
This year has been anything from 80cm Intro's to 105cm opens.

6) What are your long term aims?
Competing at Hickstead would be great.

7) Describe your favourite horse that you have competed so far, and why?
My pony, who we lost in 2006 after 11 great years, I achieved everything I wanted on her. Horse would have to be my Marey, she came from an appointment with a bullet to back to jumping BSJA but is unfortunately sidelined with injury at the moment.

8) Do you combine school/uni or a full time job with competing? And how do you fit it all in?
Full time job and with great difficulty!! I also have my own stables so no livery help or anything, this time of year is awful.

9) Do you have a show jumping trainer? If so, who are they? And how do they help you improve?
Not settled with anyone at the moment, but used to be based with Peter Brown and trained with him for 7 years. He was tough and honest but had so many tricks up his sleeve and always had more than one solution for a problem.

10) If you could have any top show jumping horse, which one would you choose and why?
Dollar Girl, amazing!

Here is a pic, not my current ride but this is from a Graham Fletcher clinic a few months ago:

6) What are your long term aims? Just to compete to keep my showjumping up to scratch for the eventing season!

7) Describe your favourite horse that you have competed so far, and why? Fiddlers Anthem, 15hh, Bay 8yr old gelding. He is just gorgeous - always enjoying himself and a real master of the jump offs!! He won 3 BNovs in a row last year purely because he could turn tighter than the horses
smile.gif
He is really an eventer but takes to pure showjumping like a duck to water! Being only 15hh he makes even discovery fences look large and he really has to motor in order to make the distances but he is sooooooooo much fun to ride!!
grin.gif

8) Do you combine school/uni or a full time job with competing? And how do you fit it all in? I combine school with competing my own two horses. One is only 5 so she needs a lot of work and one is 8 and always needs pushing back into shape! at the moment i am in my GCSE year but horses and exams seem to be fitting in fine, i just ride a soon as i get home from school at 4.15pm and then do homework etc. afterwards, i have also ridden before going to school at 8.00am in the summer.

9) Do you have a show jumping trainer? If so, who are they? And how do they help you improve? Have had several trainers in the past but am settled with Adrian Evans now and he is just fantastic and in a matter of 5 sessions has turned my showjumping around - i cant thank him enough

10) If you could have any top show jumping horse, which one would you choose and why? Probably something quite compact and short coupled maybe Arko or Russell ?? Just because i get bounced around on bigger striding animals!
