Amazing Horse Rescue - Watch Video

Back in 2006 horses stranded by floods in the Netherlands started to die. It was the action of a few people and the courage of a handful of women and 200 horses that turned an horrific event in to an outstanding rescue. And then they were slaughtered!! If my memory serves me right, but forgive me if I am wrong. I think they were meat horses.. But amazing rescue..

OMG that is amazing, what brave people to do that. It must have been such a feeling to have led them to dry land.

that so nearly made me cry, you'd have to really trust your own horse to that! does anyone know if they actually were meat horses?

Wouldn't be at all surprised. Horse farms are common in the Netherlands, just like cattle.

Don't quote me, but I think I read somewhere that they were indeed meat horses, however the Dutch government gave them some sort of intervention and they all went into rescue homes.
I wish I could be sure of that, but I do remember reading about this when it happened.

they are meat horses i remember seeing the video before

It was the courage of the horses and people on that day I thought was so wonderful.
