I have to admire anyone that can put that amount of time, patience and effort in to train a horse like that...amazing! And 10 out of 10 and a gold star for staying on some of those canter to halt movements!!!!

the great thing about so much control is that she can completely avoid bareback trot!!! haha! joking aside, it's great to see, but is it a competition or a demo? she's got a number on her back.

PMSL. Actually PF, its me!! Secretly I'm an American Reining Champion

Actually the bit you miss on that clip of it is that just before she comes in, the tannoy announces she's dedicating the ride to her father who died 24 days previously, and thanks him for "teaching her to keep trying new things". So that makes it a lot more emotional I think.

Lot of effort put into that! Im sure most horses could be trained to do that, but would hate to think of the time! I wonder if she goes out hacking at home with not tack too.

Although, Im pretty sure this is done by Parelli... which most people disagree with!

I may be mad but although I agree she is a fantastic rider and the horse is very well schooled...... it doesnt look happy to me.... ears back most of the time, tail swishing and licking and chewing furiously.....

I cant imagine that its joints will last long either

But this is just my view...

Antifaz's tail goes like a helicopter all the time. I think some horses are swishier than others. You're welcome to view my vids and say if you thing he's miserable

He's certainly an opinionated monkey

I do see what you mean, because the horse's ears are back some of the time, but isn't licking and chewing often seen as a form of willing submission and relaxation? ie. they look out for it in join up?

It does appear that she loves the horse very much, and obviously they have a bond for him to go like that with no tack - but I do see your point, as he does look unhappy in parts of the video.

I think licking and chewing to some extent is desirable but he seems to do it to the extreme. I cant see how a horse should enjoy being that submissive, its a bit like when dogs squirm around on their back and chest when they are submissive.

Just wondered if it was a bit overboard or perhaps caused by something else?? First i thought i could see a line going from her hands to his mouth, but think its just interference on the video having looked closer.

Maybe he does it more because he doesnt have a bit in his mouth, I cant ever remember seeing a bitted horse do this although when merlin gets his tongue over the bit he waves it out of the side of his mouth,,,, does that count???

I thought that there were times when it didn't look happy like when it came out of the spins. Then again if I'd just done those spins I wouldn't look happy either...

The horse looks pretty unhappy to me. Not the swishing tail so much - she has her ears pinned very firmly back at times. Horses that swish when concentrating (thinking of Mr President!) tend to have their ears out to the side - ears pinned back is something else entirely. I still think it is an amazing video and some of the movements are very physically demanding - which is when the horse looks unhappy - so I would question whether it had some sort of physical pain.
