Me and my boy plus 13 other horses and riders traveled from Devon to Southapmton on Friday for the Royal Navy Championships. We all did so well, I came 4th in my jumping class, so chuffed. Then yesterday morning I did the Top Score jumping, tackled the 3'3ft Joker Fence, and Lukey put so much effort into it but didn't quite make it, he clipped the top pole, and somehow it swung round and ended up inbetween his front legs, he landed heavy and stumbled, I didn't have a chance and hit the deck and apparantly didn't move! I say apparantly because I don't remember it at all! The result, a fractured coccyx! Whoopsy!! I tell you what though, that bloody joker fence will not get the better of me next year!!!!

Broke my bum!!! Like it and gonna use it!!! And thank you, been told not to ride for 6 weeks.....Bugger that! I'll give myself a week off, then back in the saddle, even if I have to lightseat it everywhere haha!!!

Apprantly I hobbled down to the stable and checked him over with a fine tooth comb! I don't remember doing that either, but yes, he's fine thank you!! x

Oooh nasty, broken bum crack :o, I came off on sunday myself, first time in a long time, I got away with it thankfully, hope you heal quick ;)

I broke my bum bone when I gave birth to my daughter. Hate to tell you this but it took absolutely ages to heal and hurt like mad when sitting on hard chairs. You may need a rubber ring when you get back in the saddle.

Good luck! (giggle)

I beg to differ.

I broke my coccyx many years ago in a motorcycle accident. Apparently the somersault I did before landing was impressive, but I landed sitting upright on the tarmac, still doing about 40 M.P.H. Fortunately, I don't remember a thing. As well as my bum, I broke my left leg and my left knee, so for pretty obvious reasons the doctors missed my bum, while fixing my leg.

I realised I had broken my coccyx after leaving hospital, the first time I sat on a hard chair. It was so painful I came close to passing out, throwing up and crying all at the same time, none of them were something a self respecting 19 year old 'biker' would want to do in front of his mates.

Be VERY careful when you sit in the saddle for the first time, if you bump that broken tail, you ARE going to know all about it.
