We bought our pony from the sales last November, from what we can gather from the seller she had been broken in and turned away.. however at the sale she was shown undersaddle and seemed a nice sort.
after the sale we went to pay and collect her passport, It was pretty much a bog standard generic passport with a vacination record, her show name and D.O.B her parentage was unknown...
she has had 2 previous owners in her short life.. she turned 5 in July.
I have for the past few months been trying to search for her old owners, only really to find out what she had done in her previous life, what her breeding was etc.. but was having no joy..
Then the other night I typed her show name into youtube!! omg!! there was a film of her at 18mths (she has certain traits /markings so no doubt it was her) I then emailed the person who had put the film up, they got back to me telling me that they did not own her but she was born in the field at the back of his house and he had filmed it all... he sent me the film... he then went on to say she was moved/sold to a girl in the village and one day he bumped into her and asked about the horse turns out she still had her and sent him some pics/movie ( the one on youtube) he had often wondered about her and how she was doing.. but hadn't seen the girl.
Move forward a few years and I contact him...
ok.. now get this.. which is the strangest part of it all... No where on her passport is her stable name, we chose this when we bought her as it was only her show name on her passport... but... we gave her the same name that the previous owners had called her... how spooky!! oh her name is Sophie, so now we have almost put the puzzle together for her life..
So if you happen to be from Walney Isle in Cumbria... you might even have know her!!
K
Sorry long post.. but a happy one.
Oh btw.. Nothing wrong with pony, she is in a very loving home and has no issues etc..
