Amazon Horsey Flash Sale...

My understanding is that things like this are prompted by your browsing history. If you have looked a a number of sites for one particular set of products briefly - or left a window open for longer on something - Amazon, and others, will sometimes set up a "flash sale" to try to tempt you. The prices are not discounted beyond normal -or the number of discounted items vanish very quickly. As an experiment try using a friends computer (with their permission!) to look up something they don't normally look at and you do. You will sometimes find it the price is different depending on which computer you access from. And I presume you've noticed that whatever you look up online then magically appears in the pop up ads on here....
