...wasnt meant to happen but she is now out in the field with all the others.
My OH was taking her out for a walk and apart from her just missing his head with a double barrel kick she was fairly calm. Then she decided that grazing was boring and took off. My OH ended up letting go and she galloped up to the field.
We legged it after her expecting carnage, but she was just saying hello to everyone over the fence. Because it is quite a narrow path to the field, my OH tramped through the bushes down one side to catch her (we wasnt sure how she'd react to being caught). She then took off full pelt towards the stables, bronced for a bit then shot up to the field.
By this time OH had got into the field and I was at the other end of the path with a bucket (who is the stupid one?). We decided that taking her back to the stable was propbably not the best idea so OH got her, unclipped the lunge and opened the gate.
Amber shot off bucking etc, everyone else wanted my bucket LOL. She settled down after a short while and seemed a bit stiff. We phoned the vet (bless him,it was his day off but he was more than happy to chat) who said that any damage would have been done the first time she took off and that she should stay out.
As he knows Amber, he understood that it would be too much of a risk to get her back to the stable. Too be honest, if she did have to go back on box rest, we'd still be trying to get her in. He just said to keep an eye on her and that the stiffness was probably from being in for so long. Obviously if she is really lame tomorrow, then to call someone out.
So, um she is out, not quite how we planned it though.
