has anyone been or got a recommendation: ideally thinking of colorado on a proper working cattle ranch, rather than just a holiday place with lots of riding, but also opportunity to learn roping etc...location not so important, but small friendly places would be good.. thanks

i kno a few that hav been on these and it was like slave labour only they were paying! not holiday like at all, bad accomodation, food etc and muckin out boxes most of the day (they cud hav dne this at home)! im sure there are god ones tho, but wud b careful, try and get a reccommendation from someone!

Check out In The Saddle (www.inthesaddle.com) - I've not done a US trip with them but I've always had really good experiences. I've heard that their US trips are great too!

Second time I've mentioned them on the forum - I don't work for them, honest!!

If you're looking for something a bit different riding wise but still USA based you might want to check out http://www.thelongride.co.uk/

Diablosgold and I are both going, for three months (lucky cow!

)and two weeks respectively. Also the organiser James is looking for someone to help him in Texas getting the hroses fit and ready for the ride.
