Can I make a suggestion? On the news today it was announced that the youngest surviving equine is a 2 month old jenny foal that has been named Esther. I understand that the others are not being named yet as (a) they may be stolen and have desperate owners looking for them and (b) they may not survive long enough. As Velcrobum has posted, myself and Llwyncwn are arranging a run down to the Horse Trust at Princes Risborough with (at least) a lorry load of supplies donated by local horse owners/riders. I know others around the UK are kicking the same thing off. I've spoken to the press here and, to give it oomph, continuity and impact, I've referred to it as the Operation Esther run/convoy. Would it help if we all start using that name so we can achieve real national coverage? If anyone in S Wales wants to drop off feed, rugs, etc etc PM me for details. x

That's an excellent idea, I like that alot.
Do we know EXACTLY what supplies/goods are needed by the various charities that have taken in these horses? I have a spare rug and headcollar, and can donate a couple of bags of feed if needed that hopefully will be picked up next week.

Having spoken to Redwings yesterday I am sending up some small rugs I have spare for Esther and for the new donkey foal when it is born. They are in the washing machine now and should go tomorrow, OH is having them couriered up.

What an excellent idea.
Our riding club secretary recently put together a contact list for everyone in the northern isles involved with horses and ponies. I have sent out a blanket email asking for donations and support. I am hoping one of our local transport companies will be able (for a bit of local free publicity!) to deliver any resources for free as they have weekly national runs.
I think it's an excellent idea to give the campaign a name as that will help publicise the fact and get the public motivated to the fact that these horses and charities need as much help as possible.

I saw a photo of Esther, what a little sweetheart. Apparently she is a little subdued but is starting to frolic around now. She is dark brown.
