...In this months horse and Rider

In that article the Horse and rider say one Jenny couldn't even stand up.

However, when the rspca were in court in april they admitted that all shetlands and donkeys were in good condition. They simply removed them from SF because of concerns about Mr Gray and his family.

They keep ranting about how emaciated these animals were - WHERE are the pictures from when these animals were meant to be emaciated?? - animals they say they didn't think would live another week. but hey.........ALL 111 proved their so-called thoughts wrong.

I am not a fan of the RSPCA, but think they made the right decision removing all the animals. Especially since there were over THIRTY dead horse on the property and dozens of others heading the same way. I don't think any creature would be safe with that miserable family.

BUT......Was there really over 30 dead horses and dozens of others heading the same way?

Let's not start another argument guys....

Some of us have one point of view, some have another, some don't know what to believe and are staying firmly on the fence. We all love horses and can't abide cruelty, we all have that in common.

Whatever we feel, think or know, there are going to be differences of opinions...the world would be a boring place otherwise!

But let's not turn it into another argument, resorting to personal attacks....

Well said Penny, evidence will be produced by both parties in court and only then can a rational decission be made as to whether JG is guilty or not guilty. Untill then, everything else is just heresay and speculation on both sides.

Evidence was produced in court by both parties on which the judge awarded the Grays pets be returned - the rspca also admitted that all those shetlands and donkeys were in good condition.

The public didn't accept this judges ruling and neither did the rspca (even after they admitted the good conditions) So what makes you think the public will accept the ruling based upon the evidence if JG is found not guilty?

But the RSPCA doesn't have the right to remove people's property based on 'hearsay and speculation'. It has to have hard evidence otherwise it is acting illegally.

At this point Anti, only the RSPCA and certain 'privileged' others know what the actual hard reasons were for removal - what we talk about, hear, discuss and debate are only hearsay and speculation.

[ QUOTE ]
Well surely that isn't true because there has been a court case already.

Didn't any facts come out in that?

[/ QUOTE ]

Absolutely!!

I can't speak for the public, but I will be attending the trial to hear all the evidence from both the defence and prosecution lawyers.......and I assure you, I for one,WILL accept the final ruling which ever way it goes.

I don't think the RSPCA or any of the many other organisations involved would have made such a fuss over the judge's decision had there not been good reason for it. Look at all those conspiracy theorists who thought Diana was killed by the royal family. None of them can accept the fact that the only survivor of the crash was wearing a seatbelt. The exact same is true here. Even though you didn't see it happening doesn't mean it didn't happen. And are you going to tell me the animals on this page (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/li...html?in_article_id=507061&in_page_id=1770) look healthy? I just wish our judges were as good as the ones you see on Animal Cops: Houston. They never hesitate in awarding custody of abused and neglected horses to the humane society. And no I am not looking to start an argument, but I am just pointing out a few FACTS.

Very true!
I am still trying to keep an open mind on this until the results of the trial are made public.
However, I can't help feel that as the Grays are facing 12 charges contrary to section 4 and 9 of the Animal Welfare act, there must be some evidence against them.
Yet at the same time I am really hoping for the sake of the horses, ponies and donkeys that were involved that this cruelty and neglect didn't actually happen as some folk are believing.

I agree, it would be wonderful if it was, in fact, concluded that these animals were not neglected.

However, I do have an opinion based on the information that has been presented to me (as a member of the public).
There is no right or wrong in what opinions we hold individually because that is our right that we allow ourselves.

I too am awaiting the outcome with great interest.
