Decided to practice comming in to fairly big oxers off tight turns last night in preparation for going BSJA. Whilst putting out the jumps I decided the surface looked a little hard and un-inviting and what i was going to do could end up in a spectacular splat off a 17h horse so put my BP on.
I have never even though about wearing a BP for showjumping before, only ever XC as the rules demand it.
I'm certainly not nervous about jumping. Happily take on 5 bar gates out hacking without BP and think nothing of it so why last night?
Not saying how old I am but life should have begun a few years ago.
Anyone else done out of character things like this and should I be thinking of ordering a mobility scooter?

Nah seriously, it could just be that you know how talented your horse is, and what he's capable of and are just wanting to push things. Years of experience may have just kicked in and gave you the inclination to put your seatbelt on
