Was thinking after reading Whispa's earlier thread that perhaps would be interesting to name a completely alternative three day event team for Pratoni Europeans next year. You are not allowed to include anyone who has represented GB at a senior Championship and dont forget there were 12 of those at blenheim last year! Lets do five riders (4 for team plus one reserve) Mine are
Piggy French- Bordeel(?) Champion
Cressie Clague Reading- Carousel Quest
Francis Whittington- Sir Percival
Michael Owen- King Bob
Antoinette Mckeowen- Two O Two
any other thoughts? xx

Gosh I havent heard about Michael Owen for AGES! I wondered if he still competed tbh!

Yes agree with Piggy and Cressie, but would like to see Jo May and Faere Vision, Beanie Hughes and Duel or Monarchs Rock and Tristram Owers umm and is it Rosie Thomas and Barrys Best - that combination are fab - watched them at Barbury and thought they were super and then completing their first 4* at Burghley! BRILLIANT

Poor old terry lacking a horse at the moment and i love ruth but she would tell you herself, hers not the most reliable showjumper.
And as for you BB, i am disapointed that yopu havent noticed Mr Owen sneaking in some decent three star results on Bob! And must answer you PM sorry xx

i think you will find that M. Owen eventer might not be as cute as M.Owen footballer but i am afraid that though he is a babe to look at, any owen would be preferable to talk to that david-'my-name-is- dave-and i-havent-got-a brain-Beckham!

Now look - who says i need him for his intellectuality - i dont want to talk to him - just look and touch!
Perhaps thats where Im going wrong LMAO

i think terry is taking a step back from top level eventing now, concentrating on producing and selling....

Marsh Mayfly is a fab horse when it SJ's i know before winning thirlestane it hadn't jumped a clear SJ round for something like a year she said.

I'd like to see matthew wright go out and do some more team stuff

Re Terry, what happened to the big chestnut he round at Badminton last year - fab XC and then withdrew before SJ due to a knock - is the horse still injured? Pity if it is, as he looked fantastic at Badminton.

oooh now thats a tricky one!!
I'd love to see Lucy W on the team, she's come so, so near recently and Shaabrak's a class horse.
Cressy for sure, Piggy deserves a chance too.
It's been so long since the eventing season I've forgotten who else impressed me. Roll on March!!

we love Kit but she hasnt got a ride at the level that she has proved yet. Five Boys is still not in full work and who knows about Coup de Cour. Impy will be lovely but hasnt been round anadvanced yet.

I also like the look of Lead the Way (Clea Phillipps horse) which won the 3star at Blair. He's only 9 (this year) and only done 1 3star, but he's highly rated by Clea, and looks a classy horse. Records looks very good too - clear xc every time out for the last 2 years, and doesn't have many showjumps down either!! Definitely one to watch - and Vere does have the knack of picking some exceptional horses!

That's good news. He did look so good at Badminton and would definitely be one to watch, if he comes back OK and as good as before.
