Hi there. For the last three years or so, I’ve been using wood pellets for bedding.

I’ve liked them because they’re easy to store, easy to use and importantly economical.

However the price of pellets has gone through the roof. I used to pay less than £200 for a whole pallet of 65 bags at 15kg each. White horse energy are now saying that they’re prices are increasing to over £300 per pallet soon.

Other suppliers are close behind them.

So my question to you, what other bedding would be a good economical replacement to pellets? I like pellets but if I’m honest, the beds look awful, the beds are damp in winter and dusty in summer so now they are so expensive, I’m struggling to justify using them anymore.

Thanks in advance.

I used Laysoft before and would fo back to that. It does the same job as regular shavings but doesn’t move around. I’d money were no object I’d use Aubious which is comparable to pellets for absorbency.
