An ecstatic photo thread!

We discovered a new (and remote :thumbsup) walk this week, so I thought I'd take Zak for some scent/retrieval work without having to be paranoid about other dogs. It's heathland (should I worry about ticks?)

First of all, we did lots of scent/retrieval work:

Then he needed a drink:

Then he had to wash the ball and pounce on it in the filthy water repeatedly:

Then he just lay full length in the puddle and had a proper bath:

Then Brig and Bear had their walk in the same place (we met a Kerry Terrier puppy who was staying right by her owner, super cute little girl, never seen one, looked like a cockapoo or something I was secretly pleased that the boys were running round like loonies!)

This is from the other day, forgive the sheer filth in which I live!

Looks like they had a lot of fun, dont know about ticks this time of year, if there are deer, ticks are always a worry. I use Prac-tic flea and tick treatment which goes on above the shoulders blades once a month. Because my Dobes dont have thick coats I only use it from spring to autumn as they dont seem to pick up any visitors during the winter months.

There's heather and it's like a heath. The OH saw a deer there yesterday, so although it's not the season, I would rather be safe than sorry.

The thing is this time of year you are always rubbing them down with towels and my theory is you are more likely to spot an uninvited visitor. Unless they are regularly putting their heads down rabbit holes and pickingup fleas they are less likely to pick something up. I hate putting chemicals on my dogs. I believe it comprimises their immune system . This year about Easter mine will be on Billynomates.

I don't think you need to worry as much about ticks this time of year,but having said that this mild weather has turned many other bugs topsy turvy so might be as well to keep and eye out,especially if you have seen deer about.

Gorgeous boys as ever and look forward to seeing more of their adventures (am not envying you the 'filth' though lol).
