Well, I am part loaning a gorgeous mare called Poppy even though I am quite a novice rider (only done walk and trot). But I had been having lessons on her to improve and get used to her. But unfortunately my instructor broke her wrists So I thought I wouldn't be able to learn anything for a good while.
But the competant lady I ride with helped me last night! We went out on a hack and it was a great time.
I had my first fall off a horse It wasn't anything major, Poppy's saddle slipped to the side and I kinda just plopped to the ground. Then I had to get back on her from the ground, another first for me
And then after tightening her girth, we cantered! Three times! I had never done canter but the lady told me how to sit etc. Not so easy when you actually do it though lol. But it was so amazing. I cannot believe I was so nervous about it! And I was so proud of myself for getting back on after falling and not having a nervous freak out lol.
I was just wondering if people remembered their first experiences of cantering, falling etc?
I don't think I will ever forget mine
