A hacking route?

Further to Persephones post about boxing up to hack out it got me thinking.

Would it be possible to get together on this one and offer certain hacking routes with parking facilities.

As in - myself for instance - we have a large area to park a horsebox or trailer and would be quite happy for people to park while they tacked up and could offer a route for a hack - not a fabulous hack unfortunately - rather flat and boring where I am in Lincs!

Might even stretch to hosing off facilities and a cuppa!

That sort of thing and if we all could offer something we could all maybe get out and about and be in the knowledge that the transport would be safe and to get to go somewhere different.

What do you think or is it a silly idea?

Mrs W! I was thinking the very same thing after reading the 'boxing up to hack thread!'

It would be nice - I don't know if anyone on here could offer advice about any extra insurance which might be needed? (None in a sane world, but sadly we're not in one of those!)

Maybe we could ask for a sticky thread and add county by county?

My local riding club do this. They have a list and you write where you are and what type of hack and then you can search through for the type of hack you want.

Think it's a really fab idea, sadly I'm not in a position to be able to offer anything, being on a livery yard - so it isn't my parking to offer!

Perhaps there could be a sticky (split into counties), but it could combine local info of routes and parking as well as offers of parking?

That is a seriously goo idea - we could make a sticky and make the titles the nearest large town and then the content details of the hacking and availability of parking or overnight stabling and costs??

This is a really good idea I could offer some directions for a hacking route, and parking on a designated National Trust horse box parking bit if that's any good?

it's a brilliant idea... I can't offer somewhere to park, but can suggest lots of places where there's room to park and lots of wonderful hacks around us!
