A new chap joined our gang last week, so thought I should introduce him!
I have another horse, fondly known as Big Unit, who had quite a serious tendon injury last year. We’ve been very carefully rehabbing him since his surgery last June, and are doing stacks of hacking at the moment!
My OH and I agreed that the big lad deserved a quieter pace so hacking and - hopefully - low level dresssge will be on the horizon for him.
With that said, we also agreed that we would like another horse that we could jump, do a bit of xc etc and a couple of weeks ago, came across this fella:

He’s a 10 gelding, about 16.3hh and has done a bit of everything, most recently eventing at 100/110. We will not be doing that 🤣 but hopefully he will be a nice schoolmaster for us to pop around a few 90s at some stage.

He is super sweet, hopefully our other horse and him will become good pals. Have only ridden him twice since we got him last week - once yesterday at saddle fitting appt and again this morning - he was angelic. Delighted with him! Hopefully he continues to delight me as I’ve entered a dressage comp in 2wks time 🤣

Thanks folks! He’s done the things we want to do already, so should have a slightly easier pace with us, but still very capable of doing the stuff we’d like to do.

Big Unit is still my No.1 😂 we’ve taken his rehab super slow & steady so I’m hoping and praying we have a good outcome. He’s fantastic on hard surfaces, slowly starting to introduce arena stuff now as the nights draw in and also work on strengthening up his weak areas.
