I thought it was high time i gave everyone an update on the book situation.
Horse and hound online sales and Bransby sales (direct from the shop on wesite www.bransbyhorses.co.uk) are going well however we are having ongoing issues with Amazon.
Bransby are working hard to sort it out and assure everyone that the issue in NOT at Bransby end - all stock was delivered to the warehousing company as requested. Despite this Amazon are still showing late dispatch dates or out of stock. We apologise profusely for this and Bransby are trying to talk to Amazon to resolve. It is however harder than trying to talk to MI5 :(
In the meantime i can only suggest people still waiting cancel amazon orders and ordser direct from the Horse and Hound online shop or from Branbsy direct.

The next step is to start to look for retailers who would be prepared to sell the book in their tack shops/ feed shops. We are on the case with Lincolnshire retailers at the moment but if any of you own shops of that nature and would be happy to help then please please could i ask you to PM me?

Finally a big big thank you to those of you who have already supported us. As you know 100% of the profit is going to charity, there is no payment to me or to Hovis (!!). All the money will be put to great use safeguarding the future of horses like Carrot and his friends. Anyone still pondering buying it then please do. I'm a rank amateur and certainly no Jilly Cooper or Dick Francis but I hope I can at least get you to crack the occasional smile!

For those asking about book 2 as I have said if there is enough demand for it then it will be released in early 2012. Watch this space....

Thank you again for all your support - we couldn't have done it without you lovely forum folk and the help of Horse and Hound / IPC media.

I can thoroughly recommend Hovis' Diary. It was an amazingly funny, sometimes sad and very touching read.I loved it and read it very quickly, unable to put it down.

I, for one, hope that there is a second, third and so on,instalment. Please publish another, it is anxiously anticipated!

Amazon are a nightmare! My OH has just co-authored a book on cricket very similar is style to Hovis's and they are having just the same problems.

Not sure at the moment how it's being resolved.

I'm sure saddlers and feed stores around your's and Bransby's area would sell it willingly.

I bought the book on HHO and it arrived a week later.
Made me cry lots sometimes with laughter and sometimes because I am still raw after having my old pony PTS.
The book is well written and I found it hard to put it down, and the poems had me in tears.

Well done to you, Hovis and all those that helped you.

Have you tried getting into Countrywide stores yet?

The hq is in Defford, Worcestershire and they seem to always be up to help charities (regular fundraisers for the RDA) and they have a book section?

Brought 4 of the books, kept 1 & passed the others onto horsey friends.
The 1 in hospital nearly burst her stiches open with sniggering! :D

Good luck in the promotion of it further.

If you are doing a 2012 diary, then I'd love to think that you might get access to Hovis's 'Sekret Diary Notes' as well ;) - the ones we don't all see on here, that he scribbles up every so often & keeps his notebook under his spare rug hanging on the wall of the stable :D

Lots of demands from this end too-a fantastic, hillarious and well written book!
Thoroughly recommend-I would like the next one ASAP please! :D:)
