An update and a valuable lesson (please read)

A good lesson in follow your gut insticts here.

I agree - the OP pretty much hit the nail on the head for me in that when situations are as dire as this one originally appeared to be, it is worth getting a second opinion just to be sure.

Wishing your horse a speedy recovery.

To think you could have lost her and no one would have been any the wiser about the error made... it doesn't even bear thinking about in fact. It's amazing that your mare hasn't got lymphoma and the prognosis is good - that must have been the best news ever! It's great that you've shared it too: it's a story that so easily could have had a sad ending, and the truth of the matter never be known.

Wasn't stirring. Was trying to balance spiteful comments with supportive ones. "Give it a rest" and "Sigh" comments are not what I expected to read after reading that someone nearly had her horse put down and it turns out that it would have been a mistake. Smart arse remarks are not helpful or kind and I don't like them and will say so. And if anyone thinks that makes me a stirrer, then fine. I am a stirrer.

well said teebag! its why i don't often put things in NL because you always get someone who gives you a snippy, totally unhelpful reply...
as i;ve said in CR, OP, great news :D

Jesus, you lot are prickly tonight!

Which part of "give it a rest" BECAUSE nativeponies and the OP had sorted things out, did you miss?

I try to get the thread back on track!

Whatever - keep stirring.

OP - good luck, fingers crossed
