Well first of all a big thank you to all of you who have been so supportive and helped me through my worry lately.
For those who may not know I thought perhaps I should retire my mare basically due to underlying rotation of one of her fronts.
The vet was out this afternoon and he wants me to carry on riding seren and that she was fine and to give her the odd bute at weekends when I ride if she needs it. He basically said it was best to keep her going as she seems fine (I think he was almost surprised I had worried about it
)
He also checked her eyes and there is nothing wrong with her sight!
I asked and he did say the seizure she had last year could have changed her perception of things, hence the increased spookiness.
So what I need to do now is get her going out on her own and getting both of our confidence back to the way it was.
He said gentle hacking is absolutely fine and this is all we do anyway. I asked him if I can let her have a trot or canter on softer ground if she wants to go and he said yes. As long as she wants to go he said let her, so no more holding her back if she is feeling good.
I am so pleased, He is a fantastic vet, one of the best as far as I know, he goes to all the race courses and top yards so I trust his judgment entirely. Now we just have to get on gently and hopefully start having a nice time together again
