My saddler has said to get an anatomical girth as the horse has a forward girth groove. I’ve been looking at the Prolite anatomical dressage girth and the Kieffer ultra soft girth. They are both the same price.

The Kieffer is leather whilst the Prolite is not. The Prolite is based on a Fairfax girth.

Has anyone got or used these girths and can make a recommendation? I can’t find many reviews of the Kieffer. As I’m loaning the mare, I don’t want to spend a fortune on the girth so these seem a reasonable middle value girth.

I have tried my boy in a prolite for the first time last week, for no reason other than I liked the research behind them (and I’m a cheap skate that wouldn’t buy the Fairfax this month!)

It has made a massive difference to his medium trot (to the point where it totally took me by surprise I was left about 10 miles behind the movement! He just went boing off his hocks! I have now figured out how to sit to it!) his lateral work definitely is flowing better, especially in the canter half pass, which can be a bit sticky on his weaker side.

I put him back in the old girth (a sheepskin le mieux) the other day (sorry all days are merging at the moment) and his medium trot was just meh! So prolite gets a thumbs up from me!

no idea on the kieffer, sorry never used one.
