I need some shopping help! I’m looking for a girth for my mare, she’s a round barrel of a pony and as her girth groove is forward it is pulling her saddle forwards and restricting her shoulders.

It needs to be shaped like this:

My issue is that no where on earth seems to do them for in a 38 inch length for a pony! I know Tekna made them but I can’t seem to find out where they sell them (and have them in stock) and they haven’t replied to my email.

I don’t want to go down the crupper or sticky numnah route at the moment as I think the shaped girth will remove the tension pulling it forward, but I’m really drawing a blank :(

I have the same problem as you, I used a tekna pony girth and it is a lovely girth but I think it has been discontinued. I started with the 40" but then my daughter's pony expanded so now she is in a 46" wintec cair girth which is heavy but works well (not sure if it goes as short as 38"). I am sure I saw a lovely girth on ebay will have a look and let you know!

Sorry couldn't find the girth but heritage do a girth that looks good and they say they can make them from 38" so it may be worth checking them out on ebay but they are about £100.

Just to update:

Tekna emailed back to say they had none with any of their UK stockists in my size :(

But, I got 'The Saddle Company' to make me a 36 inch one... then went on holiday and gave the pony two weeks off, took two people to get it done up the first time!

But, the girth is lovely. Combined with having our saddle adjusted we had a lovely lesson yesterday evening without it moving an inch, plus no spooking or bucking! :D
