Ancient Northumbrian Dialect

Watching countryfile tonight, and I was surprised to find the promise of a language I hadnt realised existed, until it quickly dawned on me that I already spoke it, although I admit I dont answer the phone at work with "ya alreet hinny"

My ex did answer the phone like that all the time and I never knew he was bilingual lol

I just watched it this morning (because I'm such a wild outgoing 21 year old lad I record countryfile) and I am also glad to be an (almost) fluent translator of this ancient language.

Dads side of the family are from Alnwick/Belford/some from Berwick so I could understand a fair bit of it, even with having spent the last 3 years down in Manchester getting soft.

Reckon I'm gonna confuse my girlfriend and her parents this weekend by telling them their horses are too clarty after the rain we've been having. See if they call the vet or something...
