Not as bad as has been known, but new rug this winter and has done well so far - maybe going for a record for Meg. We can easily get through 2 rugs each winter, maybe she knew I had 4 on standby for once and was attempting to call my bluff? lol But, now its started, I feel like Iam on the down hill spirral?? lol

Just on the chest at the mo.....

the only rug that my monster didnt shred was the taka rug (after the typhoon rug was replaced by something which wasnt as good as the original typhoon)

i dont bother with cheap rugs now - saxon ones may as have been made of paper, i only buy the decent brands that i know can withstand my monsters!

It is a bit par for the course with my lad I am afraid! Mind you it does get expensive  I get mine mended if possible.

I think the fastest rip I have ever had was Fany, put rug on her, went to make Captain's dinner, she laid down for 2 minutes, went to get up and stood on it and ripped it!

Might as well just throw the money away:rolleyes:

Choose rugs stronger than 600Denier - they are harder to rip. It usually means more expensive though, but overall I've found it worthwhile, especially for my mare who has sweet itch, who tends to go for a scratch sometimes. The tougher rugs are really standing up well. Horseware rugs in the sale in my case...

May be a silly question but what is that in the background?! Is it a huge dog?? By the shadow it looks massive but not quite horse shaped :D

I'm lucky with mine and rugs, my pony Jessie tends to have the odd rip or two by the shoulders where she's shoved her head in a bush but that's about it!!

Damn you!

Yes it is :) Our groom turned him out in it. I went out to the field to bring him in to change it and cought the other bugger with my rug in his gob. Needless to say there is also an identical rip in his turnout rug :(

Mind your teeth when you do things like that (wish I knew how to put the laughing face on!).

I don't have problems with rug tears usually - but I had loan of a few extra acres for a couple of months and my yearling decided to pull down the electric fence put up to stop horses getting near the barbed wire boundary fence and yes you guessed it, my quarter horse, his companion, ripped his newest heavyweight rug (it was during the snow!). I was not amused. The yearling's rug was intact!

I've just put my pony's no fill turnout back on since it's got milder and after a wash reproof and repair...and I counted...it now has 10 small patches on it. Beautifully done and at least I'll always know it's my rug...:D
