This time he's definitely got something in his ear

He hasn't been shaking or scratching but this morning my colleague rubbed his head behind his ear and it made him yelp then I did the same and he really yelped, poor thing

Now just got to ask my boss if I can take an early lunch and nip him in, I think he'll need to stay overnight as they'll have to sedate him to make him stay still and get anything out. Hello credit card....

Oh and I then have to leave early tonight to get my own ear sorted out....!

Damn and blast. My dog insurance renewal is going to be terrifying!

Aaw poor Henry, I seem to be picking grass seeds out of my lots ears constantly at the mo, but at least their ears are easier to get at . I imagine half a field could hide in a spaniels ears

And good luck with your ear too, I had loads of ear infections couple of years ago, not nice!

Thanks

I check his ears all the time but I think stuff works its way in during the course of a walk. If any spaniel owners have tips on how to prevent this I'd love to hear them!

My ear just needs syringing but I've gone completely deaf until it gets sorted

Then I can start on the other one

Ok we're back from the vets and they can't find anything wrong with him.... so I've joined their monthly discount scheme and have no doubt been added to the neurotic owners list I'm sure all vets have

He really did make a fuss earlier!

The very kind vet said it must have fallen out, whatever it was.

Oh dear

O dear - poor Henry!!

I have no advice to offer as it the one thing that Sweep has never had a problem with - the odd eye infection yes but ear problems no. The last time the vet looked at him (before his op) he said they were the cleanest spaniels ears he had seen - shines Sweeps halo

- but thats not down to anything I do I can assure you!! Like I've not got anything better to do than fiddle around in a minging spaniels ears.....

Keep him out of grass with seeds! Honestly, it's the only way! Otto is only walked in the woods and it's gravel and dirt all the way, no grass in sight!
My Mum's dogs only go on mown grass, she has had too many Vet's bills for grass seed removal to risk it now

Oh dear... I don't think there's anywhere to walk without any grass seeds around here

Even in the woods there is grass about.

SU - poor Henry nothing. He was being a big soft spaniel jessy nelly-pants and it cost me £22
