if you have read my other previous threads you will know I wasn't having the best of luck with the horses and too top it all of yesterday I had a nasty fall which included the horse tripping and rolling over me, near miss off spinal injury because of hat which im so thankful for but unfortunately I have a bad break too the collar bone. ANOTHER set back and no hunting for me this season:-( my pony is ok and he will be having physio next week just as a precaution.

That's rubbish. :( think positive though - a friend of mine had an identical break operated on recently and is back in the saddle 4 weeks later and back in the gallops in 5 weeks. No adverse effects. Good luck!

Push to have that operated on asap- it won't heal naturally so no point waiting.
Once healed you will be back in saddle in 6 weeks if you really want- ideally 3 months tho!
Hope your not too sore and bad luck is ended now!

Ouch!

Al had a similar break, and ended up having it pinned because naturally it healed very short, meaning it wasn't sitting correctly. Be very aware of if you get any aches or weakness on that side, and be aware of muscle wastage. We noticed in Al's prom photos she was very one-sided, with the muscle on her 'break' side being totally non-existent. Now, she's got an amazing scar but absolutely no issues!

What a shame!

Glad your pony is ok- hope physio doesn't find anything.

You might not need to miss all winter- I had exactly the same break, spent 8 weeks in figure of 8 bandages pulling my shoulders back. (Itchy as hell, but great for posture! ) I now have a lump, but other than that no problems at all, 20 years later. I started riding before the bandages were off.
