I have no shame in saying that I do like a nice rosette. I am the person who thinks that throwing away one's rosettes is akin to throwing out that teddy your late grandmother bought you for Christmas 20 years ago :o! Now after paying my rather large entry fee, I do feel that if I do well, I should have something nice to show for it. BE prizes (or lack of!) are an entirely different thread, but with regards to the rosettes some events are better than others. When I have paid a lot to enter I do expect a half decent rosette. So here is the thread to give credit to those events who add that extra touch :). Feel free to add photos!

The best BE rosette I have won came from Hunwick horse trials

Sorry for the pointless thread but I can't get to sleep, so started tidying my room, and organising the rosettes I have acquired over the past few months! Feel free to add :D!

Ooo, that's a nice rossette!

Totally agree: getting a lovely rosette makes it all worth while, even at local show level. The classes are so bloody expensive now a days the least they can do it get reasonable rosettes!

Little Piper was 2nd in his first ever proper jumping class yesterday :D (full up 65cm (with proper spreads) is quite big for a short fat cob! :o) and the rosette was a real disspointment: I've had better clear round rosettes :(

I'll sift through mine for pictures later!

There is nothing like a nice rosette to just top off a great weekend :o

This one would easily be my favourite, for a number of reasons. 1, it's mahoosive! 2, the colour :p and 3, it's my best achievement to date, it was an awesome feeling to be in the line up with the 'celebrities' of the Aus eventing world.

Ok technically it was an eventing rosette (even if it was U/A and ridiculously small :o ;))...

I love this one from Pachesham!

I couldn't agree more! I LOVE a nice rosette! Fenning Farm, a venue near us always gives out really nice rosettes!

Don't BE so no comment on BE ones, but agree on a nice rosette. I too have never thrown a rosette away and even in my old age do like a nice rosette.

my fav one isnt a BE one, (im not brave enough to event :D) but one i won at Hickstead about 10 years ago in the RC team jumping. The team came 6th and we got one of the old type rosette that Hickstead used to do, the multi layered ones that wasnt flat, it looks really different to normal rosette. Cant explain them very well lol! I will try and get a picture tonight :)

SC - I have a Hickstead clear round one from the 1990s! We actually had four faults but the nice man gave us the rosette anyway. The clear round was huge, defintely not your average clear round!

Have been fortunate to get some Hickstead rosettes since including a couple of winner ones (actually placed but the rosettes wre main ring ones and said winner) which are longer than the horse's head. Their rosettes are lovely.

Hickstead Rosettes are lovely,I, sadly don't have any, but, my DD got two last year whilst competing there for her pony club, a clear round and also a team one , they are her most cherished to date...lol she is only 13 though!

I can beat all of these... although not from eventing. I used to show rabbits, and had some quite nice ones. Club I was a member of used to give out rosettes as big as dinner plates!

Yep the CR was set at 1m20 when I went and that was the smallest it would be set to! I was officially doing the dressage but it was running along side the derby show so snuck across and did the CR on my 14h2

Still want to jump properly at Hickstead but not been able to afford to! Annoyingly had we realised the derby show was running prior to arriving (innocent jersey not a clue at time peeps us ;) ) I would have entered both but of course no late entries etc were allowed!

I've always had disappointing ones at BE, they're always small and very cheap which is very annoying when it costs so much to enter. I cherish my CIC* rossette from last year when I was placed in the top 10, but its still not very exciting! The nicest and biggest are ones I've had from BSJA.

I hope you pinned them on the rabbits - they'd be bigger than them :D

Don't BE either, but I can't help but like a nice rosette :o I have a nice tartan one from a Highlands and Islands show when Fergs was 4. And J has a nice black one from an indoor TREC which I would like much more if it didn't say Kelly Marks (sponsor) down the ribbon!

Has anywhere done nice Diamond Jubilee rosettes - have some lovely ones from 1975 or 77, when it was the silver jubilee? Maths and memory not good, can't remember which year.

SC - I think it was the size of the clear round that made me feel we deserved a rosette even with four faults! Horse and I were in first year of affiliated so qualifying for a national final at Hickstead was huge and the regional final was only the week before so not entirely sure I believed the whole thing! Sorry gone off track a bit.

I don't do BE, but I'm quite proud of these beauties :D

Especially because they were from my RC and doesn't cost an arm and a leg to enter, but you still get your monies worth! I hate cheap crappy rosettes when it costs a lot to enter some classes :(
