Always ALWAYS wear a back protector.
Out riding my young horse today in the hills when she started a rodeo act going up hill. Mangaged to stay on for a couple of bucks before finally having to obey the law af gravity from about 8 feet. She has been know for having a buck at the start of the first canter but this was an all out you ARE coming off. Anyway hit the ground on my lower back and have now severly hurt the lower back muscles. Phoned the doctor in tears with the pain and now have strong painkillers. So to anyone who doen't ride there horse with a back protector on please wear one even if you are only going out on a hack.
