I don't mean to be mean, but is there actually such thing as a purebred JRT, I mean the non Parson type? I stand to be corrected (and you know how I LOVE the KC)
I am glad they keep in contact but I'd rather they did that for welfare and responsibility reasons, not because they want to see how sooper kool and rare and tiny the pups turn out to be.

Don't think so - as far as I'm aware they're just any variety of small white/black/tan working type terriers. My grandparents have had dozens of the bloody things over the years and not one of them has turned out the same, they're a real mixed bag. The current (delinquent) one has suddenly developed a deep barrel and a broad head, I suspect there's staffy in there somewhere.
There's a few proper working ones locally and they are very distinct from that horrible brown rat up there, they're long-legged, beautifully proportioned and bloody good ratters. I haven't seen a pet one in years that didn't have bow legs.
Yeh he is cute, but hopefully you are not planning on standing him at stud. I think Black Cob definitely wins with the JR x Akita at stud, going to need a new desk (or head) at this rate.
Good grief JR x Akita????!!!! Mind you nothing surprises me anymore, have heard of daschund(sp?!) x rottie - apparently though most had to be put down as they had rottie sized heads and diddy bodies!!
I've got a weird mutt - mum was dogue de bordeaux x bull mastiff and dad was a Utanogan (husky/malamute/shepherd mix) - but at least they were similar sized dogs!!! this is what that mix looks like - Ted is 9 months old here:
