He came back just over a week ago now. Threw himself off the lorry, but as soon as he got into the field, he started munching the grass straight away and looked like he had always been there. I had grass coming out of my ears and now it's almost gone! Must sort out partitioning the field into smaller paddocks, but little pony has no fear of electric fencing and walks straight through so it's got to be stock fencing and the money for that went on bringing Zoon back!
Poor lad looked as if his feet hadn't been done since I had them done in Feb just before he was sold. He is barefoot behind and they were ok as had worn down themselves, but the hoof had grown over the shoes at the front. We have a farrier issue down here - 1 in prison, 1 with a broken back and another who has gone abroad for 6 months. So the ones who are left are suddenly booked up for months! Farrier is coming tomorrow! I have managed to get the shoes off, so feet aren't too terrible, just need a good trim. I'm going to have a go at keeping him barefoot as he'll only be ridden now and then unless I find him a loaner (I am looking!).
Other than the feet, he looks ok. So glad to have him back
