Yesterday whilst I was grooming I received a phone call from my mum, delivering some devastating news. A friend of mine took their live on Fri evening. I was so shocked I didn't even cry. Instead I tacked up and set off. She hasn't been ridden in a week, her turnout has been limited as she has been coming in overnight. She is also in season. Despite all of this she marched on and was very well behaved. I was a bit of a mess. I spoke to her about my memories of my friend, then I started to cry. I have received some negative comments about her in the past. But I don't care, she is always there for me and I love her.

So sorry to hear your sad news, we have had year from hell too and my animals have seen me through. Unfortunately I cant ride my 5 yr old hes lame in 3 legs but he still lifts my spirits as hes so affectionate.:o

Thank you, i'm still in complete shock about it all. But it really helped speaking to Ruby about it all. It was also quite windy so I was really expecting her to be om her toes.

I've experienced something very similar. One of my friends was killed during my a levels and they found him the same day my patents told me they were splitting up.

I was the same. Couldn't sleep so got up at 4 am and rode for hours. My normally hyper boy was foot perfect.

I'm so sorry for your loss and I hope your mare continues to help you come to terms with this.

So sorry for your loss, thinking of you.
Continue to use your mare to lean on, they can be fantastic therapy.

OMG ((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))

This is so very sad, and a huge shock for you. Animals know when you're so vulnerable, and they look after you.

I am so sorry for your loss. sm x
