I have the possibility of going on an Andy Thomas clinic (pysio, see recent thread) in a couple of weeks...and the question then is which of 2 horses do I take?!

Horse 1 : older, ex-eventer, pretty set in his ways, but well balanced/established, so I don't have to work as hard, and can concentrate on my position, but he is less likely to go differently if I ride differentlt.

Horse 2 : younger, sharper, but a bit lazy to start with. I have to work harder on him, so less able to relax into position, but more likely to respond to a different balance/way of riding?

Horse 2... when you are working harder your weaknesses will show up more to be seen and improved!

I am in the same position, booked into a clinic with Andy next month and I am taking the younger horse I work harder on; my hope is with some adjustments we can improve some blockages so I can feel I am doing less!

younger horse....older one seems ok and as we get older we dont bend as easily as younger so more beneficial to take the younger one, you have really answered your question yourself...
