Anglesey farmer kicked to death by horse

Sorry, but this sounds like a tragic accident, not the deliberate and malicious actions of a crazy horse - as the headline might suggest.

And equally open to misinterpretation as the other post's contents due to a complete lack of factual information.

I would agree that the headline appears to be attention grabbing, however the rest of the report adds some context.

There has been an inquest and the coroner has recorded a verdict of accidental death. A Police investidgation was undertaken and particularly as a death was involved as much evidence would have been gathered as possible. Sometimes you have to accept that full factual information simply cannot be obtained and in such cases professional opinions contribute to the overall conclusion.

We shall never know exactly what happened.

I see it as an unfortunate set of circumstances leading to a tragic death.

Why didn't they ask the horse?

That has to be the most inappropriate flippant remark yet on a forum. How insensitive and stupid are you? Obviously you are registered on the wrong forum, this is for equestrian matters and related topics. STUPIDRUS is where you should be posting.

Will was a kind and highly thought of gentleman. His family are devastated.

Another one of my favourite papers, second to the daily mail!

Certainly sounds like an unlucky tragic accident where the poor famer trying to do good, was kicked in such a place that caused death (my guess is head ) by a painicing injured animal.

Sympathys go to those involved.

Why add daft into your post, what it appears happened was something many of us would have attempted on our own under the circumstances.
I'd love to know what you would have done in those circumstances, those of us who often work alone have no option sometimes but to get in there and help a horse!

Just because its a sad story doesn't mean the article isn't crap. Its incredibly sad - but thats not what my remark is about - my remark is about the article. Which is IMO crap.

I am sure many on here have done what this farmer was attempting to do--you dont always have a hat to hand when you need one. My OH got kicked in the head trying to extricate a pony which rolled too near sheep fencing and got wire behind a front and back shoe. You grab the wire cutters and go as fast as you can.
He did get the pony out but was non too pleased to have been hurt for his trouble
This is a really sad case and Im sure posted as a warning to everyone to be careful out there.
Condolences to the family involved and no blame to the horse which was probably in pain and panic mode.

Lets face it if you saw your horse tangled up in a fence the first thing you'd try to do is free it.

Such a shame, but thats the trouble with farms and animals, they are quite dangerous compared to living in a box in the town.
