Just wanted to let whoever know that if you use them be prepared for a battle, sadly we have just lost me dog Jake to a massive stroke. He visited the vets 2 weeks prior because he had some dizzy spells. The vet asked me if he ever coughed, I said very occasionally when pulls on the lead for the pass year. Other then that visit he has only ever visited the vets for his vaccine for the last 15 years.

Animal friends are now saying they will not pay out for a pre existing medical condition !!!!!! I've rang twice as well as my vet nurse and they are saying the cough could of been the start of his stroke !!!!!!!! What a load of rubbish.

It's bad enough we have lost Jake they have rang me and sent letters asking which other vets I've used because he must of seen a vet ( don't think they can understand what an healthy dog he was ) my fantastic vet is writing to them so hopefully we my get a better outcome.

So sorry for your loss and that Animal Friends are giving you such a hard time. I have to say I have heard some awful stories about them. I hope with your vets support you are able to get them to pay what you are owed.

Im sorry to hear you lost Jake and AF have just been awful, I know people knock them but I had a really good experience with them, they paid my vet within 10days. Its just ridiculous their reasons for not paying out and Im sure if you contacted the Insurance ombudsman they would help you at this very sad time.

Another positive experience with AFs. They paid out £1200 ish a month into the policy for something that I really, really REALLY thought would be bounced as pre existing, because it was!
