i am constantly refreshing constantly for the grade III results to see how Simon got on!
My mum had a voicemail from him after his first test and spoke to his partner and he said his main hopes were for the freestyle but still fingers crossed for the individual test (which he has completed and final results available any time now!!!)
Ricky B On at 20:58 or 13:58 our time, Lee on at 22:04 or 15:04 our time.
Fingers crossed for them both esp Lee. Let's hope he can help keep those Pesky Germans from winning another equestrian team gold medal & contiune our fab run of sucess.
ust done some quick maths and from what I can see team gold is basically guarunteed. I have only done top 4 teams so far but if you count Simon's score we finish on 429.25 points, Germany's 4 riders have all gone and they complete on 413.532, Norway after 3 riders are on a worst score of 395.55 which means to go ahead of us their final rider needs to score 94% which I'm sure you will is fairly unlikely and Denmark finish on 401.593 as one of their riders has withdrawn!
Had a quick glance at the Netherlands and Italian riders (in 5th and 6th after day 1) and they didn't look good enough to challenge us!
see above 62%. something obviously went a bit wrong as that level of score very unlike him. Will see if my mum has spoken to him or his OH later. She is writing everything for the local paper and we have known him for years so she is in regular contact at the mo keeping up to date!!
I'm pretty sure I had some lessons with him many moons ago when I had lessons at Haie Fleurie in Jersey but he always seemed to teach a bit more over in Guernsey than in Jersey or that could just be me imagining things LOL. really pleased for him though, ok no individual medal today but still the freestyle to come and he basically has the team gold which I'm sure he will be chuffed to bits with.
I think he did teach more over here (we obvioously needed more help
).
I'm so pleased for him - he really really deserves this - they all do. Big fingers crossed for the freestyle - can't remember if it was last year or the year before where he did one of his Freestyles at Forest Farm - it was so lovely to see.
My mum spoke to Simon earlier apparently horse rode in really well came into arena, down centre line turned right (or left whichever it was!) and spooked, he then had to ride a very safe test to stop the horse from going OTT, and apparently rode very well to get the score he did, apparently the atmosphere was just as electric as it was for the dressage finals last month. Fingers crossed horse will be more settled for the freestyle. Simon still very happy though as coming home with at least the team gold!
