Anyone else?

They started using a new provider so I had to create an account to buy a ticket and expected them to be emailed to me but nope I can only view them if I download the app.

I know it's easy enough to do and I know I could have paid extra to get a physical ticket but I do really object to having to download an app.

The booking website was also crap when trying to select seats.

So I'll download the app and screenshot the tickets then delete the app.

AIBU to be bothered by this? Maybe I don't have enough problems.

Pretty common for most other sporting events and concerts these days 🤷🏻‍♀️ Depending on their system you may not be able to screenshot them either - some apps block it to avoid tickets being faked/reduction in scammers.

It is also a business decision - using tech means you don’t have to pay someone to stuff envelopes with physical tickets, and cover postage costs.

That's interesting, I only go to horse events, theatre and MMA. I'm at at least one every week and every one emails the tickets.

I wonder if its about being able to resell them. That would need central control.

I prefer apps for tickets, personally.

90% of the gigs & other events I go to are app based for tickets and find it much easier than paper or email tickets.

You probably won't be able to screenshot the tickets either - it's often a security feature.

It was the same for the Paris Olympics!! Stops people being able to sell on etc…

Worked well and I just deleted it after we went x

Interesting, I bought tickets the other day and can see they’ve charged me but didn’t get emailed my tickets. Is this AXS UK? I contacted them as didn’t receive login details either!

You couldn't buy without creating an account so you must have. Yes, axs.uk, presumably there's a way to reset the password.

You can see your ticket order on the website but need the app for the actual scannable tickets.

My job is in data, I'm dead against downloading random apps. If I'd known I'd have got paper.

Anyone bought London horse show tickets? Need to soon, is it the same now?
