Annular ligaments

A friends lovely Irish draught mare had her two hind annular ligaments done two years ago. To be honest she’s never really been 100% since. She’s recently been x rayed nerve blocked and rescanned. Vet says just shows inflammation no arthritis or other damage. Anyone got any management tips for this sort of thing? Vet due back to inject steroid next but she needs to lose a bit of weight first. Appreciate any thoughts of experience. She’s 13.

The details are sketchy as it was years ago but mine went on a high dose of bute for a couple of weeks. He was lame after his op for around 6 months due to inflammation and the course of bute worked well. This was prescribed by Liphook. He’s been sound for around 10 years now.
