So about 6 weeks ago i posted an update on the new loan horse
http://www.horseandhound.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=519356

I've been working really hard with him, and he's coming on no end, his canter is now established as we'd had some real problems with him becoming disunited, plunging his head to the floor (when he had been in work before - last summer some time - he had been in a market harborough pretty much the whole time - which is why we believe he was plunging his head), oh and on a couple of occasions buggering off with me...

So here he is in January, before I started working with him...

and so she's not left out...my old girl (I got a whole wheelbarrow of fluff off her and there's still plenty more of it to go - I hate moulting time!)

Thanks for the lovely comments everyone.

I really feel we're bonding now, he's not pushing his luck and is learning manners (he was a little bargy to handle on the ground to begin with - i cant stand rude horses so have been working hard on that!) I've had a few wobbles with him and my confidence, he's much bigger than i'm used to (little Connie is just shy of 15.1hh - Willie is 17.2hh!) and he was so very unbalanced and green - but the change has been wonderful, he just needed consistent handling and riding and a bit of TLC. Even my instructor has commented on how good he's been recently (we had a lesson in the howling rain and wind on monday - out of her 4 lessons that night she said he was by far the best behaved - considering he was the greenest and youngest of the lot I was so proud!)

We're off out to our first competition together on Sunday, just Intro A and Prelim 7, I'm anxiously looking forward to it... hopefully post some photos afterwards (if we survive)!

Ashleigh - Thank you! Yeah, Connie is a bit of a stunner (well until you see how absolutely disgusting the rest of her is!)
