poor poor mare. why are people so cruel today? there is so much evil about. This world is awful. Im glad I cant have children, I wouldnt like to bring them up in todays society.
people who did this need hunting down and shot.
I met Dolly at my vets when she had been there about a week. It was the worst case of neglect I had ever seen. She was literally a walking skeleton covered in open wounds, but still had a light in her eye which said "i'm still here" and it broke my heart. I went home and collected together a couple of rugs and some Fast Fibre I had and took it straight back to the vets with tears running down my face. I had never ever been so moved before. The rug which sat neatly over my 13.2 Connie just hung off Dolly's backbone and hips like it was on an empty rug rack. I also believe that despite only being very young herself she had a foal with her when found.
She made astonishing progress over the next few weeks despite needing help for a good while to get up from lying down, she was soon allowed out for grazing and was so obviously happy. She also was amazingly friendly and willing.
I can't tell you how wonderful it is to have seen the before and now the after. The vets did such an amazing job with her, and the rescue people are going to try find her a forever home - wish I could have taken her as she is really a pony in a million with a wonderful calm and kind temperament.
