Been to Physio today, as I've been having treatment on my lower back following a car crash in Jan.
After my fall, my lower back has been fine, so figured she may as well take a look at my shoulder.
(Just to update - I had a bad fall last Sat, Xrays done and clear, doctors just say soft tissue damage. But still suffering withlots of pain and bruising and a suspicion something was not right)

Physio has a good look and decides I have a 'dislocation' of sorts. The end of my collarbone has dislocated (hence the big lump I have) and I've sprung all the ligaments. Which would explain the excrutiating pain shooting down my back and up my neck!
I asked if a trip to the hospital was in order, but she says 'no'! There's nothing they can do apparently

She said it's just going to be very painful! Great.
States that there is no way I'll be back on a horse next week either

But just hope I can go back to work

Sooooo, after some cold and hot treatment, acupuncture and ultrasound, she's sent me off with some exercises and wants me back in 3 days.

Now I'm just depressed. Was really hoping it would be simple muscle damage. It wasn't even a bad fall really! I just landed wrong, and it's so annoying

You are not indestructible! If I fell off as much as you I think it would be put off for life, you must be very brave!!!! Full marks for determination, and I am sorry you are hurting.

I've had that on both my collar bones...i was rather pleased when it was described as a sports injury..I never thought I would get something called that as I am soooo not sporty...apparently rugby players get the same kind of injury!!!!
First time..did all the physio and ultrasound...
Next time...just let it heal on its own and it was fine...just took a bit longer.
If someone were to look closely you can see both my collar bones are slightly raised and don't sit quite right.

No, about to spend night number 12 in the trailer. Ugh. Tired. Have had wax, dripping teats, squidgy bottom muscles, titties like rocks but still no foalie.

Patience......

Your post has pleased me

Firstly because I too, have a 'sports' injury LMAO Secondly because it sounds like its a common thing. But am worried now that this silly lump is here to stay!

I know..I was more chuffed about being told I have a sports injury then thinking about the outcome!!! Didn't quite like the reference to rugby players...I am a girlie after all!!!!
First time I did it from a fall off my horse...second time - somehow I did it in bed/or at home at some point..don't ask me how!!!
The lump may go down once the ligaments have settled...I think its basically like you have scrunched the ligaments up...I was told to hold it up against and across my front...and when I slept to do the same...don't let it hang down all the time. Second time...I just took it a bit easy and didnt do what hurt too much!!!
I hope you feel better soon...

Oooh good luck with that, that is exactly what I did except as well as dislocating I broke it too.

Five years later I have a big lump where the bone doesn't sit right (I can fit my finger under it!) , a permanent hunchback, a really weak right arm and arthritis in my shoulder

Make sure you keep going back for treatment and push for a second opinion or referal or whatever if you're not happy,
and don't end up a cripple like me!

PS sorry for being so negative!!!!!!
