ok, so i posted about a less severe bit for my tb the other day, but now im on the other end of the scale.
I need a bit for my gelding for show jumping. he's fantastic on the flat, ridden in a hanging cheek snaffle with a french link (works better with a little bit more poll pressure) but when we're jumping its a completey diffrent story, the problem is he soooo strong. for the 4 years i've had him, he's been in a 3 ring gag, tried on 2nd ring, with pelham roundings and on the 3rd ring, and he's still very strong and just runs away with me. He's alot better on the 3rd ring, but i hate using it because im scared to jab him in the mouth.
Just wondered if anybody has any ideas what may be more controling for me?!?! (im only little and not very strong)
All teeth etc are all checked so not to do with that.

Thanks again, Kerry

I've used a tom thumb sweet iron on a couple of horses and its worked really well. It has copper rollers in the middle, so keeps their mouths soft, and has just enough pol action to make them respect it, without it being a strong bit.
